A water sport paradise with inviting coasts

Beautiful scenery and countryside invite visitors to partake in many activities outside the hotel. Above all, the island’s 236 km coastline presents ideal opportunities for water-sport fans. Whether you like to go sailing, surfing or diving, on Gran Canaria you are guaranteed hours of pleasure in and on the water. The Concierge at our hotel is also happy to organise a trip for you for the activity of your choice.

Outdoor sport – Gran Canaria’s diversity

The island of Gran Canaria is a real paradise for sport and exercise. The pleasant climate and the breathtaking and diverse countryside and scenery invite visitors to get active outside in the fresh air. Hiking, cycling and mountain biking are just some of the many things Gran Canaria has on offer for people who enjoy physical activities. Gran Canaria is also a great place for anglers and horse–riders – the idyllic scenery and the mild climate ensure that each and every trip out is an unforgettable experience.

Traditional Canary Isles sport – “Lucha Canaria - Terrero” wrestling

A favourite sport on the Canaries is Canarian and Latin wrestling. The contestants compete for victory in the sand circle known as the “terrero”. Don’t miss the opportunity to watch a traditional wrestling match during your holiday at the Seaside Palm Beach Hotel, as it promises to be an unforgettable experience for sports fans.

Traditional festivals – Canarian zest for life and folk traditions

All year round there are numerous festivals on the island, which provide great fun, traditional music and entertainment. The exuberant carnival celebrations, with their colourful costumes and fantastic fancy dress characters are certainly worth a visit. The “Fiesta Nuestra Señora del Pino” – a festival to honour the Holy Virgin of the Pine, which takes place every year – is one of the most important dates in the calendar for the local Canarians.

Shopping on Gran Canaria

There are numerous different shopping opportunities on the island. All around the hotel in Maspalomas and in the neighbouring resort of Playa del Ingés, and also in the other nearby towns on Gran Canaria, there are fashionable boutiques and modern shopping centres. The island is in the Euro zone and enjoys special tax regulations, so the prices are very reasonable. Shopping on Gran Canaria is therefore a pleasure.

Experience Gran Canaria’s culture

Numerous museums and a varied range of musical entertainments provide those interested in cultural activities with plenty to see and do – visit for example the Museo Canario or the island’s art galleries. In addition every year there are lots of music festivals. For people interested in architecture there is also plenty to see on the island: beautiful colonial architecture, especially in the smaller towns, lends the island a particular charm.
