A Design Hotel in retro-chic style
In 2002 the Seaside Palm Beach Hotel underwent a complete transition: the facades were renovated and the interior re-created. The unrivalled refurbishment in 1970s retro style led to the hotel being awarded membership of the association of “Design Hotels”. The new design concept came from the drawing board of famous Parisian interior designer Alberto Pinto.
The Design Hotel on Gran Canaria
The Design Hotel Seaside Palm Beach is the only hotel on the Canaries to be honoured with the title “member of Design Hotels”. You can find out more about the conditions which must be met to gain the Design Hotel award on the Design Hotel website.
Ambience created by refinement
Alberto Pinto leaves nothing to chance in the interior design of the Seaside Palm Beach Hotel. The striking contrast of colours and materials in the rooms and suites evokes the style of the 1970’s. The strong use of colour in the rooms matches the bright sunlight of this southerly latitude, and is in harmony with the futuristically styled furnishings. There is no detail to be found in the rooms which has been overlooked by Alberto Pinto.
Plain and simple architecture – opulent surroundings
The hotel’s simple architectural design wins over the observer, for it places the building in the background and allows the impressive scenery of an extensive palm garden to come to the fore. The asceticism of the development of the outer area means it is in harmony with the natural environment: the use of rocks and natural wood allows the Wellness Centre and Spa area to blend seamlessly into the 1000 year old palm garden.
Master of interior design
The Parisian interior designer Alberto Pinto creates living spaces for discerning customers all over the world. During his travels to towns and countries of the world he collects visual impressions which then flow into his creations. Thus he designs classical palaces, modern yachts and private airplanes. In 2002 Pinto gave the Design Hotel Seaside Palm Beach a personal touch: he reduced the furnishings to the essentials with subtlety and refinement, employing expressive and cheerful colour schemes.
